Mrs. Brooke Jackson's 3rd grade class has started the novel "Where the Red Fern Grows," and today they had a guest speaker that talked about the importance of hunting. Mr. David Ward spoke to the students about his hunting dogs, his personal experience with hunting, and informed the students why it's important to hunt. The students loved hearing from him and learning more about hunting. Thanks, Mr. Ward!

Happy Friday! For this week's #StaffFeatureFriday, we are featuring Mr. Tim Cunningham. Tim has been teaching Agriculture since 1991 and began teaching at the Cedar Ridge School District in 2008. He has taught in 3 school districts in Arkansas. He graduated from Newark High School in 1986 and from Arkansas State University in 1990. His dad taught Agriculture in the district for 20 years, retiring with 39 years, and his mother taught elementary in the district as well. Tim is on his 12th year in the district and 29th overall. "I love my job, but most importantly I love God and my family. My faith is the most important aspect of my life. I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, Amy, of 29 years and two sons, Tyler and Austin. I love working with students and getting them involved in education. There is no better feeling than when a student “gets it” or shares their knowledge with others to educate them. I’ve had the privilege to start two livestock show programs in two schools over the years. I really enjoy getting kids to work with livestock. It can impact them a variety ways that will affect them the rest of their lives. I have no hobbies, but I guess working with livestock and kids after hours would be as close to a hobby that I have. I hope that when I retire someday all my former students can say Mr. C truly cared about his kids. They don’t care what you know until they know you care." Cedar Ridge is so happy to have someone like Mr. Cunningham! Give him a shout out in the comments below!

It's time for another #StaffFeatureFriday! This week we are featuring Mrs. Colby Cockrill. Colby graduated from ASU-Jonesboro with a BSE in English. She started at CRHS in 2017, and is going on her 4th year here. She is an English teacher, and currently teaches 8th grade English and Reading and 7th grade Reading. "I believe we can learn so much through literature. We experience foreign feelings, view life through different perspectives, and discover the world outside our normal realm. I get to share this passion with all of my students! My husband, Hayden, and I have been married for 6 years. We have two lovely boys! In our free time you can find us simply spending time together, golfing, riding horses, or anything else outdoors! I love being a part of the Timberwolf family. Go Timberwolves!!" Cedar Ridge loves having you, Colby!

Happy Friday! Today's #StaffFeatureFriday is Mrs. Annette Ward. Annette graduated High School from Tuckerman and then attended ASU. She started at Cord Charlotte in January of 1990 as a Bus Driver, and became the Transportation Director in March of 2016. "I have 2 sons, Jonathan and Joey and we added Maggie, Joey's wife, last October to our family. I got married to my husband Johnny in 1986 and moved to Charlotte. I had always lived in town, so moving to the country was a shock to my system. Now I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. We live on a small farm with about 25 cows and 4 horses. I really enjoy my job. I love the kids and enjoy making sure they get to school safely. I really don't have too many hobbies, but I do enjoy getting on the tractor and bush hogging. I have always enjoyed any and everything my boys were doing, whether it was rodeoing or playing ball. I attend Swifton First Assembly of God where I teach High School Sunday School class and serve as the Missions Director." Cedar Ridge is so proud to have someone like you, Mrs. Annette!
