The Cedar Ridge School Board has named Tracey Owens as the high school’s new principal. Owens started her duties as principal last Wednesday, after Superintendent Dr. Sherry McMasters recommended her for the job at last Tuesday’s board meeting.

Owens started at Cedar Ridge in 2012 as the district’s math facilitator and has served as the curriculum director for the past two years.

"I'm very excited and honored to have the opportunity to become the instructional leader of Cedar Ridge High School," said Owens. " I've been with the district for 8 years as an instructional facilitator, director of curriculum and instruction and now the principal.  At CRHS, student learning matters most and it will be our priority this year."

Owens lives in Newark with her husband, Adam, and daughter Addison.
