Welcome to Cedar Ridge Schools, where we are preparing today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders.

Located in Newark, Arkansas, Cedar Ridge Schools is home to over 800 students in preschool through 12th grade. The district itself, which encompasses 270 square miles, comprises the communities of Charlotte, Cord, Magness, Newark, Oil Trough, and Thida.

Through annexation and consolidation, the district’s composition has changed over the years, but one thing has always remained -- solid community support. While the rural nature of our district presents its own set of challenges, it also provides many unique learning opportunities you will not find in other districts. It is such a blessing to have so many wonderful communities supporting our schools.

With stakeholder support, we have recently been able to build a new Early Childhood Center for children from birth to Pre-K. Our existing campuses have also gone through recent improvements to give our students a creative and innovative learning environment. Our district is 1:1 with technology devices, which means every student has access to either a Chromebook or a tablet, depending on grade level.

I am also very proud of our partnerships with post-secondary institutions. Our students have the opportunity to take a wide array of concurrent and dual credit courses at both Arkansas State University - Newport and University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville.

Our district’s heartbeat is its people. Everyone -- from the bus driver to the building principal -- is here to enrich the lives of our student body. For a successful school, it takes a whole team that is committed to student learning and engagement, and we are blessed with this type of team.

It is my true honor to serve as superintendent of such a wonderful district that focuses on student success today and tomorrow.
